Use your large Flourish stamp using a Platinum Planet Stamp Pad to create a pattern across the long edge of cream coloured 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock. You're after a subtle colour in the background. Set this aside. |
Use your smaller Flourish stamp with a VersaMark Stamp Pad to create a pattern across the long edge of 8 1/2 x 11" bond or text weight paper. By stamping at the edge of the paper, the flourishes line up.
Emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
Colour over the clear embossing with the Antique Linen Stamp pad by rubbing directly on the paper.
Rub the Mustard Seed Stamp pad over the layer of Antique Linen. |
Finish with a layer of Aged Mahogany.
Place a sheet of bond paper over the embossed Flourishes and heat with the Clover Craft Iron. This will remove the embossing powder from the paper.
Cut the stamped and coloured paper into long strips that are 3/4" wide. |
Choose your favourite strip of decorated paper and glue it to the cardstock approximately 3/4" from the top edge. |
Set the Stop Guide on your Scor-it Board to 1/2".
Slide your decorated paper onto the board....
and score the complete width of the cardstock. |
Use your bone folder to burnish down the fold. |
Now flip the decorated cardstock over and butt the fold you just created against the Stop Guide.
Score and then burnish the new score so you begin to create the Mountain-Valley-Mountain folds. |
Flip the cardstock over to the decorated side, butt the latest fold against the Stop Guide and score again.
Hold the cardstock firmly against the surface of the Scor-it board close to the scoring rail to prevent twisting or buckling.
Continue flipping the cardstock over each time you score and insure that the cardstock is properly aligned before you burnish. |
Continue to the end of the sheet of cardstock. |

Pinch the fan at its base to determine how long you want the fan to be. Use a clip to hold it in place.
Punch a hole and insert and set a 1/8"Long Neck Eyelet in the hole.
Cut the extra paper at the base of the fan to just below the eyelet to whatever length pleases you.
Punch a hole in the last "panel" of the fan and set a Regular 1/8" eyelet in it.
Repeat with the last panel at the other end of the fan.
Decorate your fan with fibres, ribbons and charms.
Give it away to someone special!
