Project - Scored Bow Cards

This project we featured artist Holly Craft of Lawrenceville, GA. The Scor-itTM board helped in the creation of her Snow Bow Cards.

Materials:
One sheet 8.5 X 11-inch cardstock for card (glossy cardstock used in example).
One inch wide strips of cardstock (mirror cardstock used in example) in the following lengths:
4 – four-inch long strips
1 – one-inch long strip
1 – 5.5 inch long strip
1 – 8.5 inch long strip
Tag, ribbon and any other embellishment desired (such as button, flat backed jewel, etc)
Scor-it™ Board
Corner rounder punch
Double stick adhesive or foam tape

Instructions:
Place the 8.5 X 11-inch piece of cardstock RIGHT SIDE FACING DOWN on the Scor-it Board, 11-inch side against the ruler, and score at the midpoint (5.5 inches). Folded size: 5.5 X 8.5 inches.
Open the card so it is flat, and with the card RIGHT SIDE FACING UP and place on the Scor-it Board. Use the scoring tool to create decorative embossed lines at desired intervals along the edges of the card front. Refer to photo.

(Note:) The raised ridge that is usually the inside of the fold, now becomes a decorative embossed line when it is scored on the RIGHT side of the cardstock or paper.

Working one strip at a time, score decorative embossed lines along all of the gold strips .25 inches from each of the long sides, and all four sides of the small center square.

Attach the two longer strips, crossing over each other like a present. Now begin adding the four-inch long strips, alternating directions until a bow is formed. Use the one-inch strip to form the final loop of the bow. For more dimension, foam tape can be used on the last three strips. Add tag and any other desired embellishment.

This is a great card for the holidays, but could also be used for birthdays and other occasions all year long.
